Worship is the indispensable and central work of the gathered Christian Community from which all other facets of the Church’s life and mission derive their strength, purpose and direction. As a Great Commission church, nurtured and fed through worship to live lives that are themselves worship, we are called to reach out in service to all God’s creation.
Worship Settings
The worship experience here at Lord of Life Lutheran Church is rich and rewarding. We use the ELCA hymnal Evangelical Lutheran Worship. A variety of worship settings are used throughout the year and vary each week.
Communion
Holy communion is open to all who believe in our savior Jesus Christ. We serve both individual glasses as well as common cup.
Contemporary Worship
Lord of Life is blessed to have a contemporary worship group named Testify. The group consists of people of varying age and talents, from 7th grade to older adults and instruments from bass, electric & acoustic guitar to drums & keyboards as well as several vocalists. Testify leads two worship services per month: the first Sunday at the 8:00 service, and the third Sunday at the 10:30 service.
Choir
We are blessed to have an active Adult Choir. The Adult choir is under the direction of Dr. Roy Carroll, Director of Music. All members in high school and above are invited to join the choir for rehearsal on Wednesday nights from 7:15pm – 8:00pm.
Youth Choir
A youth choir for boys and girls in grade three and above rehearses on Wednesday evenings at 6:00-6:30 and sing once per month for the worship service.
Instruments
We have many musicians playing instruments including piano, guitar (both electric and acoustic), flute, oboe, clarinet, cello, trumpet, saxophone, electric bass and drums. We are also very blessed to have Opus 9 from Dobson Organ Builders in our congregation. Opus 9 is a tracker pipe organ. The photo to the right depicts the recent construction of the organ in our sanctuary.
