Worship and Music

Worship is the indispensable and central work of the gathered Christian Community from which all other facets of the Church’s life and mission derive their strength, purpose and direction. As a Great Commission church, nurtured and fed through worship to live lives that are themselves worship, we are called to reach out in service to all God’s creation.

Worship Settings

The worship experience here at Lord of Life Lutheran Church is rich and rewarding.  We use the ELCA hymnal Evangelical Lutheran Worship.  A variety of worship settings are used throughout the year and vary each week.
The first and third Sundays during the regular year and alternating between one of the morning services,  worship follows a contemporary format with guitars, drums and electric piano provided by the NOW Worship Team (Not Ordinary Worship). The liturgy and music are adjusted for this modern setting of worship.

Holy Communion is open to all who believe in our savior Jesus Christ. We serve both individual glasses as well as common cup.

We are blessed to have an active Adult Choir. The Adult choir is under the direction of Susan Hanson, Director of Music. with rehearsal on Wednesday nights from 7:00pm – 8:00pm in the church worship center.

With the start of the fall season, Lord of Life Lutheran Adult Choir will be returning to its more active role in the worship life of our congregation.  “Veterans” and “Newbies” alike are encouraged to join their voices in praise of God and the edification of God’s people . . . that would be all of us!  Singers of all ages who can commit to either long or short term involvement in the choir’s schedule are welcome, and while previous choral experience and musical skills are helpful, they are NOT required.  Choir is, and will be, what we make of it.  All are welcome – come and enjoy being part of the song and the singing.

We have many musicians playing instruments including piano, guitar (both electric and acoustic), flute, oboe, clarinet, cello, trumpet, saxophone, electric bass and drums. We are also very blessed to have Opus 9 from Dobson Organ Builders in our congregation. Opus 9 is a tracker pipe organ
